Default Amps

I have been looking into amps as of late and was wondering what you all think.
What is the big difference in the Crown CE, Power Tech and XLS Series?
Also the American Audio V-Series (V3000-Plus in particular) looks good for the price.
I use Sound Tech Titen series speakers just so you know if it maters.

Hi Randy,

You did not supply which of the Sound Tech Titan speakers you are using..such information would help in formulating the correct response.

In general, your amps output should match the peak rating of your speakers, this will prevent the potential for clipping.

Randy,

You'll need an amp capable of producting 480 to 500w.

What you need to decide now is:
How heavy
How much
How good
How much is the budget.

OK,

How Heavy? Not much past say 25 to 35 LBS

How Much? I would like to come close to or match the speakers.

How Good? I need (as we all do) something very reliable with a decent warrantee.

The Budget? The problem is I have a tight budget. I would like to keep it around $500.00.

I use the ADJ Pro 250 CD deck, Sony minidisk and BBE unit . I have the ADJ V1000 amp now but after moving the larger speakers I think I might need more power to drive them the proper way.

Randy,

The American Audio (ADJ) V-3000 Plus is rated for 440w which is close to being a perfect match and fits within your budget at $ 499.00 MAP.

The difference? reliability

When was the last time you saw a American DJ amp in a club or at a concert.

Amps don't change that much from year to year get a professional one.

QSC RMX or Crown CE are amps in your $ range and will last decades.

I run 2 QSC PLX2402 never a problem.
