Default Best Amp with 500w - 1000w peak Speakers?

Hey DJ's:

I have decided to scrap my Yamaha Amp and buy a new one. I just don't like the sound I am getting out of my Yamaha 15" Club Series Speakers.

In your opinion, what's a good Amp to get when my speakers are rated at 500w - 1000w peak?

QSC RMX 2450 2space low-cost 45lbs.
QSC PLX 3000 2space mid-cost 21lbs.

My thoughts.

diskjokk...could it be more of a sound processing issue rather than an amp issue?

Do you use and EQ...a BBE? Just curious.

BTW, I use a Mackie 1400i that I bought two years ago from ESC and it is still sounding perfect!

Jim:

Hmmm... could be. I use the EQ on my mixer. I don't have a BBE. I have to turn up the gains on my mixer to get more volume during dance sets. My AMP is always turned to it's max settings. Any other thoughts?

I see the newer Yamaha amps actualy have a processing circuit you can switch in just for the Club series speakers.

KJDJ,

Yeah, my current Yamaha amp (the P3200) doesn't have that switch. I bought this amp right before Yamaha released the amp that you are referring too.

The Crown XLS 602 (we just picked this one up) delivers 500w at side at a 4 ohm impedance, 370 at an 8 ohm impedance.
