Depends on what I'm doing. I like everything from my 1938 RCA ribbon to my 1" gold diaphram condensors or the AT Pro 37's for recording.
Shure SM57's and 58's and EV 257, 267, 767 dynamics.
To my AT, Sony, Nady wireless's
My Shure Brothers 55 just looks cool. Sounds NASTY! (not the cleanest sounding mike in the locker)
And more.

As Scott stated, it depends on the application.

We prefer Audio Technica Mics for both for their excellent reproduction and and price value.

The only reason why I would turn away from the audio technica would be because of the not so good reports from one of the posts in the forum. I do like the shure mics. The list price on them arent to bad. We are looking to spend about a four hundred on a good shure wireless mic. and then get a less expensive one to play around with.

I am in the market of buying a good wireless mic that won't cost me an arm and a leg.

I had a Shure Wireless for about two years but all of a sudden it stopped working for me. I don't want to buy another Shure. I know they have a good reputation but I am very careful with my equipment and can't figure out why my Shure stopped working only after two years.

Any other suggestions? I am looking to spend about $350. Thanks.

Erik,

All mic manufacturers build mics across the spectrum of quality. To dismiss a brand because of one persons experience is foolish, as he probably was commenting on a $ 29.00 mic.

Audio Technica mics are used on more major tours and TV shows than any other brand at this time.

Jokk,

Audio Technica ATW 1400 series UHF dual diversity mic is an excellent choice and comes in under your budget. For a few dollars over your budget the ATW 3000 series offers features usually not available from other manufacturers for hundreds more.

I like the Senhiser Emotion series $410.
UHF 1280 freqs. built out of real steel.
I own 3 handhelds and 2 lav/instr versions, never a problem.

Bill~

I have heard from several other places around here that say they arent the greatest mics. But hey, this isn't anything to fight about, it is your choice. I just put what I heard out there and from what I have read. Like I said, it is your own choice for what type of mics you like and/or want to use.

Erik,

Let's hear from a respected pro.

Here's why Billy Joel uses only Audio Technica mics for his tours, recording and TV appearences.

I just ordered 4 of the 1400's. Have several 1100 series and the 37R condensors. Nothing wrong with them. But, ask enough people and someone will HATE whatever the others like.
