Default Speaker Connections

Which do you think is the best connection of speaker cables to your amp?

1. ¼ jack
2. MDP (banana) plug
3. Speakon plug
4. Direct wire to amp

Hello Randy,

When thinking of electrical connections the most important factor is surface to surface contact. THE MORE THE BETTER.

The second most important consideration is strength of union, or how secure the connection is against accidental disconnect.

Taking the above into condiseration numbers 2, 3, and 4 become the obvious choices with Speakon being the best because of its' locking ability.

Speak on is the best by far. A 1/4" (which is really the standard) looses strength of its connection over time and can actually rattle in the speaker cab at high volumes causing a very annoying sound.
