Default Wireless Mic Systems

I would like to revisit an old topic. What type of wireless mic system do you use and what system would you suggest to someone looking for a 2 mic system with 1 receiver. I have used Gemini for the past few years but would like to take a step up. If you could give me some info on were to look and what brands to look at it would be appreciated. I have found that there are just too many places we play that we get that nasty low hum/his and if the best man turns away from us the mic cuts out.

Thanks

Randy,

I'm not a fan of dual receivers in one box. If you experience a problem your entire system may have to go in for repair leaving you nothing.

Frequency agile UHF systems are the way to go. They allow you to find a frequency with no other traffic to use.

As for drop out, that is the result of either a cheap transmitter or weak battery. Depending on your budget, look at the Audio Technica 3000 series or 600 series, both will out perform any Gemini product. Even the new American DJ WM 16UHF would be a better choice.

Thanks for the response Bill and thanks for the responses through my e-mail. I have ordered a new mic system. After a lot of thought I went with the Sennheiser EW 135 handheld. Better one good mic than two semi good mic’s.

Thanks Again
