Hi Guys,
it was good to see some familiar and new faces at the PDJNE meeting at Electronic Bargains. Spread the WORD... let's get going on another meeting!
Anyway I am here to tell you about my experience with the KMX01 and unfortunately it isnt good. I thought that I would test it out this weekend and put it through it's paces. I had 3 events to do. Friday nite a wedding, not bad but very slow to start up a cd and find a track. 2nd the mic inputs don't have alot of control and the sound is ok at best. Saturday morning/afternoon another wedding ceremony/reception = 6hrs. Still finding the unit hard to adjust mic levels and finding tracks on cd. Then I had a 60th b-day party from 6-11pm. Thats when I noticed the CD 1 tray was not reading the cd's at all. And finally complete shut down of the cd 1 tray. The tray opens and closes but does not spin or read cd???

This is what happened to me. I am not bashing - just giving my experience with the unit. I will be returning this back to EB and will definately not be using this unit as a main system. back-up only(after the repair or replacement). I have some karaoke gigs coming up and was hoping to use it for them. Hope this is just a fluke and the unit is a lemon.
just my two cents worth..... pj lowe

Hey PJ...
I'm glad you are the one that tested it and not me

I thiught very much about buying that for the Karaoke Shows I have been doing recently and I seem to be among the minority who have had rave revies and success with the Numark CD Mix 2. It was my primary system for the two years before I went digital.

Hopefully Numark will work the kinks out. I still love the concept. Just needs better execution and parts I guess

By the way...I talked with Greg Powers Entertainment about this piece. They bought six...had trouble...with ALL SIX

From what I am told, the first 500 had major flaws, but they have since corrected.
