While I am not a big fan powered cabinets or the Yorkville cabinets to begin with Spec wise these aren't to bad really.
I have always had a problem with poly diaphrams, even though they are very smooth they just don't seem to be able to have the jump they need at 5 and 16k hertz, and everything above 18 or 19K is wasted effort anyway.
Overall though depending on the price I would say you would have a decent cabinet.

Thats it, leave you one little clue (Optional Covering / Finishes White (NX750PW)
Yorkville is my favorite, these have passive/active options also.
I found nx550's which were the nx520's for 700 each or step up to these for 100 more and 20# each.
I do outside gigs frequently and need the power.
Currently I am using a pair of es200p subs and Elite 160's on sticks.
They have great sound and coverage for most of the stuff I do.
I am a bit leary of poly cabs, I like the sound of birch cabinets.
What do you think abut poly cabs.

Cap,
Silly as it sounds, it would be a "faith" purchase, knowing the intensive r&d and quality that comes from them.
My introduction to Yorkville came from a music shop where a soundman was employed. The rest is history and been happy ever since.
This NX series has been a work in progress and has evolved to this NX 750W series, so far I like it.
Wanted to see if anything caught anyone's attention in the specs good or bad.
Jam, Those are pretty nasty looking, I like.
Would you rather have 4 of those or 2 750's at a large (500) gig?
I have just become very happy with Yorkville.
I have a pair of Behringer B300's that do the mid power range pretty well.
I really wanted the ability to knock down trees in outside conditions.
These 750's caught my eye, but the 1500 bucks has me circling looking around for the best deal.
Thats good to know about poly, I have heard some high end boxes (by dj's standards) that made me scratch my head in wonder.

Molded cabinets do not have the sweetness that wood cabinets do. However, I have found that by adding a sub or two depending on size and need of the venue and crowd will fill out the shallowness of the molded cabs.
You didn't need to even leave a clue Rick, I think that there are only two manus still using poly diaphrams in some of the HF drivers, with Yorkville/Crate being them. Peavey, EV and JBL all used them 10 to 15 years ago.

I have the wood cabs now with subs, we are on the same page there.
That is what I meant about other systems I have heard in action.
Are poly diaphrams to be avoided, you make it sound prehistoric compared to other MFG'rs materials.
What would you reccomend for achieving this kind of power with active speakers?

Not really, it is just there is a different response curve with the polyester than with titanium. also longevity is a question (at least for me) One other thing is that as the polyester diaphram ages it's sonic quality also changes. (this may or may not be a bad thing) Personally I like being able to EQ the harshness out of a titanium diaphram, and have the crispness on the top end I want. Where with poly it is very smooth but leaves me wanting a little more than can be EQed into the sound.

To acheive the power you want within a reasonable budget I wouldn't go with active speakers at all. (but then again I have found through experience that I am not a fan of active cabinets in general)
I would go with a passive cabinet capable of handling the power you need. Oh you already have that don't you. LOL
Every one runs out to buy active cabinets to lighten the load, but what you will find is that it is a lighter load when you go with passive cainets. wood or molded plastics.

Have always thought speakers were the main "difference maker" in sound. Many modern cabs sound good but give me the classic wood cabs anyday.
For that kind of bucks, am just wondering if you might have comapred to JBL's top of the line series, the SR's I believe? One of the sweeter sounding cabs I have ever heard anyway. NONE of the other JBL's ever impressed me though. Well, their new el cheapo model is ok for the money but not what I would buy for sure..
Just my thoughts and a post to keep the "big guy" from purging me, LOL! Look for some news from the mall soon...
