I've been using the Numark Fusion players. How good is their antiskip/buffer?

I have been experimenting with a third sub placed in the DJ booth, I have had some luck using it to cancel some of the bass in booth itself. However it takes up a lot of time setting it up and trying different phasing, delays and placements.

But not a lot of luck with it in mobile configurations. It is simply too time consuming to make it practical.

When you set up Subs to your side or out in front, would adding speaker insulation help to avoid the back blast thump you get from your subs?
Adding insulation will make them sound muddier, most likely. Kind of a washed out sound with less bass clarity.

First question I would ask is what design subs are they? Horn, (exagerated around 50Hz and boomy), or... Band Pass, (typically a really narrow band which becomes overwhelming - compare to car subs), or... Front Firing, (the clearest and most transient design which has clean hard hits and a smooth lower bass region).

You can do several things to stop the problem.

1) Get the subs off the floor.

2) Place them away from room corners.

3) Cross them over lower. Subs are designed to cover only the lowest bass notes typically at the 25 to 50 Hz range. If they are crossed over at 150 or 250, you'll overlap between the full ranges and the subs.

4) Turn them down

Something else that will enhance the thump is a sub-harmonic generator such as the peavey kosmos. Man what a difference it makes not only in the thump but the highs and mids are cleaner and crisper.
