I am already tired of dragging around a 125 lb case that holds my "desktop" computer, dual CD/Karaoke player, mixer, and monitor.

I want to be on a laptop by early 2006.

I need recommendations for laptop speed, and other specs.

Thanks!

That all sounds great, but $2300 is a bit out of my range for now...

I am considering putting together a system that would include a Laptop, CDMix (maybe the KMX from Numark so I still have Karaoke capability), Gigaport sound card room for two Sennheisser wirless receviers and micropohones...

Basically...

I want to literally walk in with a briefcase...pop it open with all components all ready to go...I already have two tripods that have my powered speaker plug and 25 foot XLR Cables bundled....

I unravel the bundle, plug the XLRs into the CDMix, the gigaport is already plugged into the CDMix so it can be amplified and the wireless mics would already be in place too...

I have the picture of what I want in my head...

I estimate with the correct setup (remember, I only use two speakers period), I could be fully set up in 7 minutes...

Maybe soon, I could make the pwered speakers wirless with Cap's help and have a very small, compact setup...

There...now you know...Maybe it will still cost me $2g's I dunno

I will stand by my above advice... When a client phones you and wants to take the cheap route for their entertainment and after your advice they still look for a cheaper alternative, what goes thru your mind?

Anyone can build a system and anyone can offer advice. It’s even entirely possible to build your very own dual CD player - but once the project begins and all the small details start panning out - the time you spend learning the ins-and-outs, that others have worked out years ago, you will discover its a waste of quality time. You deal in scale 2-4 clients based on our prior conversations - your give them Peace-of-Mind with your experience and professionalism - I recommend Jef to give you Peace-of-Mind that is the true value hidden within his product cost.
