Nothing really revolutionary, off the shelf parts put into a metal case.

It could have been much better in my opinion.

There are some amazing features this unit "could" have had, that would have been wicked, but it is simply a laptop with a touch screen in a case with a sound card. oh and the $50 finger print reader.

Of course it will suit some DJs sytles and also those who just want the image, but for real hard working DJs, I really don't see the benefits of this over the more mundane off the shelf laptop.

I have got designes of my own that would copletely blow this product away, just that I aint got the money to build them, nor am I interested in passing the info along... been there done that... not again.

It's an interesting tool - limited for my taste but I'm sure some guys would find usage for it..... I'm interested in seeing a heat test on such a unit...

Nice item Donny.....

Jamm,

This thing stays super cool. The fan on top near the keyboard lights up blue just like the keyboard. But it also senses the temperature, if the system gets warm, the fan starts to turn green, if it gets really hot, it turns red. We've tested these running for 14 days straight in non vented conditions. No problems.

Since it uses a centrino, its stays pretty cool anyway. I had one of these at NAMM. Everyone loved it. I can't count the number of people I had jump on it while it was closed, try that with a laptop. It survived multiple drop tests and could be run over by a car.

Since we are leasing the OODJ, most of the guys buying it are spending about $100 a month for two years with a dollor buy out, and its a tax write off.

It's the bomb for travel on airplanes. The only thing that sucks is security, this thing trips everybody out

Phil, seems like you've got an aweful lot to say with very little to show?

Jam,

I'll have to get back to you on the exact specs.

Jim,

As the title of this thread suggests, it's a play on James Bond OO7.

yup, I sure do Andrew

and I don't feel the need to have to prove anything to anyone. I know what I know.

As for the bomb prrof of the unit, that's mainly down to the case which can be used with any off the shelf laptop.

All I'm saying is it's a collection of off the shelf parts in an off the shelf case.

As Jam stated it will definately be right for some DJs, mainly Club DJs I think, but for the Mobile DJ it falls a little short in some areas.

I'd love to tell you all about some of my designs, but I am keeping them close to my chest. If I never get the chance to produce them, then the ideas will never see the light of day.

To date only one other person on the planet has seen my best design.. and that's all I'm saying about the matter.

The one single feature that this unit offers (oodj) which would be of benefit to most DJs is the Touch Screen. As for portability and security, there are many many ways of achieving those nad has been for years.

Credit where it's due they stuck a fancy package together, but in terms of practicality it falls a little short for generic mobile DJs.

But hey that's just my opinion of the unit.. and other people will always have their own.

I also have opinons on the new DAC-3, but I will keep most of those to myself until I have used one in order to give a more justified responce.

You could always send me one to review hehe

Andrew,

Have a more detailed product guide on this (and the DAC-3) that you can send me (PDF is fine)? Do most of your customers get a controller (eg, DAC-3) as well?

What do you mean by "backup facility":

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Up to 200 GB hard drive with backup facility
How "swappable" is the drive?
