I have a copy of PCDJ Blue that I won.*
Most people here are not too complimentary apout PCDJ.**
But basically, what are the issues regarding PCDJ that should concern me?

Donny,
So is it old Blue or Blue VRM?
Blue has it's limitations based on old nor new but is not considered "pro grade".
Certainly load it and use it, it's in your pocket and the clock is running.
I would take your copy, contact them and get the latest version before installing anything.
Maybe they will upgrade you instead.
I don't think any of us want to go back to the site of the melt down over PCDJ, i'm sure you read it all anyway.

Cap,
Not needing support is what we all strive for.
Being denied improvements for that kind of money is disapointing to hear.

I cannot express the level of satisfaction I have experienced with Atomix/VDJ.
As proactive as I have ever seen a company with respect to improvements, and in some cases patches for bugs come nearly immediately.
The features that keep coming at no extra cost make me wonder what is next and when will it end.
Will they ever run out of new things to offer?
The team is just bubbling with talent that weekly produces plug ins, skins and modifications for specific needs, ask and it will come.
They are like dj nerds on the loose with nothing better to do than create something new for the program, total dedication.

Gawd I HATE the default skin and they know it......

For the FAQ's
I do all my "tuning" with in the program.

I noticed Brian selling off his cd gear, that is going to become a trend IMO, congradulations Brian, that is a big decision to make.

What may prove very helpful for those making or contemplating a digital transition (or MAYBE considering adding a secondary software tools) is to post a direct link to the home page of the software vendors. Maybe we can save each other unneccessary googling.

Here's a couple of programs I've found helpful in my MP3'ing business:

For AlcaTech BPM Studio Profeesional:

http://www.alcatech-us.com/

Adobe Audition 1.5. For .wav file editing, customizing tunes, building voice drops, and general overall personal creativity with adjusting bpm and pre-building mixes:

http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html

I am anxious to review yours.

Have not been around here much (or any other board) since I went digital and started building systems. I have been SO busy, 14 hour days are now short ones, lol... I need to find some HELP soon...

JIM, CALL me. I can hook you up my friend.... I believe you should try the RED VRM first as it has the easiest learning curve of anything I have seen. The VDJ Rick loves so much would likely be my second recommendation. Either would be fine choices IMHO... I would like to speak to you about a another idea or two...

Have you decided to go rack mount or laptop yet? I am now doing both types and have switched to a laptop for my own rig. Had to go lighter since my aging back is not getting any better...I now use an IBM R40 with 200GB of internal hard drives and love it. Can't wait for someone to get hot on even larger drives though so the external can be left in the bag...

I have an original and so far exclusive design that will blow you away for a laptop system. Anyone want pictures of what I will soon have on the market just email me. Of course I can also point you to pictures of the smallest 2U rack mount that can handle the newer CPU's that I am aware of or even the SFF Shuttles. I also really like the Shuttles!! Gettin too darn old I guess; lighter/smaller = better in my world today...
