I haven't found anything out there myself.....So I was wondering if any Mac users knew of any program out currently or in the works that was OSX compatible that played mp3+g and possibly video?
I won't get into a debate here, but I Will NOT even consider a Windows based option.

Can't suggest anything myself right now, but I agree that any DJ system that does not rely on windows based technology or file system would be the way to go..
You simply can not have 100% reliability and Bill Gates mentioned in the same sentence... oops I just did that!
Ya see nothing is 100% certain!

There is no current MAC KJ program, however, I am in communication with the software developer of a MAC DJ/VJ program that wants to add Mp3+G. However, no MAC's read CD+G CD with their factory CD/DVD players, therefore, he must also write some kind of ripping program and isn't having any kind of success.

Wow,
Thanks Jam.
There seems to be a lot more to this PVDJ setup than I originally thought.
I am one of those who immediately discounted it because I am not fond of Peavey equipment... I should have looked more closely. It seems very interesting now that I have realy looked into it.
I remember you talking about this to me at DJ IS 7....was it Only this you were refering to...or other products as well?
Also, can you give me any information on Reflex? And, what about mp3+g and/or video...do you know if this will be supported in the future with any of these products? can you say?
Thanks in advance.

HEY STEVE! Where you been so long my friend?
I know last we spoke we both were sick of Windows but I gotta tell ya, I have had ZERO (yes, 0) crashes in the last year. I believe the last service pack for Win2K must have fixed most of what ever ailed it. Anyway, I tried XP pro for a while (about 4 months) and spent more time working on my PC then with it so am back to Win2K pro, NEVER to go with XP again I'll tell ya.
Anyway, can't you run windows programs on the newer MAC's? I seriously considered getting one after you did when I saw that feature advertised.
Email me sometime dude,

LES, my man!
How the hell are ya!
I am a mac user now...I simply don't do windows anymore...LOL
As far as running what is called a windows emulator.....
If you have a program that you can't live without and you need to use it on a mac...that is what an emulator is good for...HOWEVER....
If you are in a critical situation you never want to rely on an emulator!
You would be much better to use a PC in a situation such as gigging, rather than running windows on your mac.....
If it is merely a program you are using at home, You are fine. In critical situation, I would NOT recommend it.
With all the great new DJ software/hardware coming out that is both XP and Mac OSX compatible...I don't have to worry about it...BUT where Karaoke is concerned, there are very few PC options and no mac options yet....ANd I am not too please with the PC options available to me.
