A quick question for MAC users...

Are you using such a system to DJ and if so what limitations or advantages do you have?

Good question, Jam.

I am bringing this back up..so that I can see some of the answers.....
I personally don't yet, however I am looking to soon.... Was thinking about running FInal Scratch until I saw the Rane Serato Program...But after talking to you and finding out what the PV program/hardware does...It looks like that will be the route I go...unless something else comes along in the meantime that I like better.

One limitation that I see, though, is no way of doing Karaoke!
I want to get into a karaoke system...perferably on a computer...and there is just no support for mac osx yet....

The few PC options available don't thrill me either.

All housed in a cheap briefcase at the moment, but planning on professionally casing it in the next couple of months.

I'm more than happy with my current rig, it's compact & out performs other software packages I have owned. I do club work, so this goes straight in to a spare channel on the clubs mixer.

I have a G3 notebook. Doesn't seem good for much of anything. Won't run Megaseg. Small HD 128 Ram. slow clock. But hey!!!! it was free. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]
Been using PC's since my first 8088 4Mhz 640K Ram and 20 meg HD. Still have it and it still works. Used it for Character Generation on Video up until I went fully digital For Video editing and titling about a year ago.
