Default Laptop or desktop?

What do you think is better to be using a laptop or desktop.. with a a laptop it is smaller but then you will prolly have to buy an external hard drive or else you will spend a boat load of money on an internal.. a desktop is more bulky but is faster... also, what would you use for a djing program (i am currently running pcdj red)..

The program issue is a tough one. I think that if you are happy with what you have and are using to stick with it. You can have 100 responses each with a different answer. As to the desktop vs. laptops, that is the same way. It depends on what you want to spend and how small you want to go. There is always the rack-mount issue to that Dr. Draxx is very experienced with.

As for programs, I use OtsJuke, Atomixmp3 and Final Scratch. All 3 give me different options and have special applications in my dj'ing.

For computers, I use a home-built tower. To me, it looks more complicated when doing weddings and private gigs and I can have multiple soundcards, videocards, hard drives, fans and I can work on it add to it, etc. I am however, looking into a laptop mainly for my Final Scratch program. It is so much easier going into a club and using a laptop instead of a tower and a flatscreen, especilly if you are only doing a 2 hour guest appearance.

Hey,
Thanks.. We havn't gotten to the flat screen stage yet ( lots of $$$ )... Since we just built ourselves a rack mount cart for bringing everything around it will be easier to bring the tower than in the past.. You can check out the pictures of the rack that we built by wednesday of next week..
