New England Networking Tour
The Professional Disc Jockeys of New England and DJ Idea Sharing were invited by The National Association of Mobile Entertainers to participate in a tour of the New England US states. On July, 9th, 2002, the aptly-named "New England Networking Tour" sponsored by NAME made its maiden voyage.
With a turnout of 40 plus mobile entertainers, this landmark event hosted at Electronic Bargains in Brockton, Massachusetts was a fun, informative, and eventful evening! Worthy of note, was the DJ Idea Sharing segment. This segment concluded the evening with some great discussions and even a demonstration of an Idea Sharing favorite - the "Car Wash" dance.
On October 1st, 2002, the New England Networking Tour invaded Greg Powers Entertainment & Music Store in Saco, Maine. This event, co-hosted by the Maine Disc Jockey Network, was the first networking event ever attempted in the state of Maine. Spirited discussions on various topics were conducted by Rich from ERG, Rob Peters, and Jim Casey. The highlight of the evening had to be the tour of GPE's Music Store and the FBT powered speaker demo by Fred Renz of the Henderson company.
On October 9th, 2002, the Massachusetts Association of DJs and Mobile Entertainers graciously invited the tour to stop in at its regular monthly meeting. The intimate & friendly setting of this meeting made for great networking! A friendly roundtable discussion and comparison of each others prices and packages made for some very interesting conversation. As the meeting concluded, the informal networking was simply amazing! The networking even spilled into the parking lot where some great techniques, horror stories, and more were traded. The friendliness and camaraderie among the MADJAM members is truly what unity is about! Our hats off to MADJAM for the shining example that they set that evening.
With 3 successful tour stops already completed, the New England Networking Tour has only just begun! Look for more stops coming soon to your area. If you are in New England and would like to assist in planning a New England Networking Tour event like these, please contact Rob Peters at
