Default Who pays for dinner at the interview?

Typically I meet my wedding prospects at their home but on occasion I need to meet them on neutral ground.

I always pay for the meal. Hey, business write off.

Your thoughts?

Most of the time we meet at a coffee shop.. no meals.. incase we don't click.. I would hate to have to sit through a whole meal if we don't click..

But, I don't meet with as many.. my website is a very personal showing of myself.. and that and our chatting time really has made face to face time early in the booking process less critical..

Lightbulb who pays?

I always pay. It is a tax write off and I also find that when I pay the bill the client almost always signs a contract on the spot.

I guess the feel obligated in some way after I pay for there meal.

Some times the client will not let me pay and insist I let them.

A couple months ago i had a couple who took me out to dinner and payed for drinks in the lounge all night long. I almost asked them for a ride home afterwards

I have never met over a meal and cannot understand how and what situation I would meet a client like that in?

Kevin:

Meeting at a restaurant is not my normal or desired approach. Typically, I ask the prospect if we could meet in their home. This puts them in a spot where they are more comfortable and it also shows that I will go that extra mile.

I have only had a few occasions to meet in a restaurant or coffee shop. In all cases I picked up the meal (and got the gig).
