I noticed that "background" music is mentioned first. That's about all this scheme appears to be. I could see it if a B&G were too cheap to pay an organist for their ceremony... but if all you need for reception music is comp recordings of retail store background music fare, why pay someone for that? Bring a boom box to the reception, set it on a table and play your own. Or one could tune the FM to an oldies station.
Do they truly use tapes? That would seem to be an inconvience for folks who are trying to find appropriate tunes at the appropriate times. And you know someone's gonna ask requests of the person who's been volunteered to deal with the tapes and the system. But what the heck? There's a wannabe DJ born every minute.
I wonder if these folks are aware of their reporting and royalty responsibilities. There appears to be no mention of this on the site.
