How do you stay connected with you clients? Some use a simple cell phone, pager, hardline, website, email others use devices that allow them to check their emial everywhere, anytime, all the time, etc.?

I am wondering how do you do it?

I stay connected with my clients by offering them a way to communicate with me virtually 24hrs /day. The only time I can't is when I'm in class (about 3hrs a day).

What I use:

3 Hard Lines: Home (For brides and grooms only) and two office lines

Cell Phone- I use the Blackberry cell phone, a device that is used for everything that a computer can do and it fits in your palm. Similar to the Palm devices. It constantly checks the email automatically for me and I have all gigbuilder replies/queries/updates/etc text messaged to me. I can also surf the web (using the full HTML capabilites, which Palm has yet to do). Runs about $110/month

Email - always on always connected. Personal for brides & Grooms only - Compay for all others.

Text Messaging - Used on the cell phone. Part of the Cell Plan

Office Hours - Having an actuall office allows them to come to me on their lunch breaks and hold meetings at any hour of the day or night with out any interruption in a comfortable atmosphere.

Tell us how you stay connected?!?!?!

Most of my communications are done through email.

Semms easiest option. That way both I and the clients can respond in our own time.

This way people respond as soon as they can or a ssoon as they are able to provide a response.

I do have a freephone number for clients which does get used but not very often.

Most clients are more than happy with the email, I suppose this is due to most being referred or having attended a function they know I'm a real person.

All the above plus we also have a message service that answers all of our calls and forwards to either cell or voicemail. So when we are out of the office, there is still a warm body to take thier calls.

I'm so lo-tech it's not even cute. I have one dual-purpose land line (for personal and business) and email. During "business hours" (generally 9:00am to 10:00pm) I answer with my business name unless my Caller ID tells me that it's someone I know who's calling. I actually do more business via phone than email.

I detest cell phones because they all sound like crap. I also object to how people throw etiquette and good manners out the window as soon as they use one. And don't even get me started on people using them while driving in the "Fast Lane" like they own it!

But...I'm not bitter. Not me.
