I got an lead through respond and called last night. The "gentleman" that answered asked me who I was and when I told him who I was and what the company was he said, she isn't interested and hung up.
I sent her the following:
"I attempted to phone you this evening and a gentleman answered. He asked me who I was and when I identified myself as Tom Ohlendorf with Good Knight Entertainment he rather rudely told me that you weren’t interested and hung up on me.
I got your information off of Respond.com. If you are not interested please let me know so that I can report it as a bad lead and get a credit on it.
If, however, you are interested, please phone me at 410-569-9883.
Thanks,
Tom Ohlendorf, President
Good Knight Entertainment"
I got the following reply this morning:
"It was not a bad lead, I did look on the site as interested. It was my first day looking and at the time am not ready to make my final plans. I will keep you in mind, and I appoligize for my roomate cutting you off, but as you can imagine we recieve "courtesy" calls non stop and he took it as such. I will email you later when I am more ready to make my final plans."
My reply:
"Thanks for your e-mail. I hope that we can work with you and your fiancee for your special day.
I do understand about "courtesey" calls and I try to make my evening follow up phone calls around seven when most people are through with their dinner. Before the National Do Not Call List we received many calls during the dinner hour and I just hated that.
I know that you will probably be talking to other DJ companies, so here is a list of questions you may wish to ask them: "
And the questions followed.
Here's her reply:
"THANK YOU, this is a tremendous help. I will definetly give you a call or an email in a month or so after I am more ready to start the final plans. You really go above and beyond. Have a great day and look forward to talking with you in the near future."
