Is the hair on the back of your neck standing up like mine?

Every time I turn on FOX news and hear of the terrorist attacks in the UK I feel we are next or a plan is in development by these terrible groups.

My prayers go out to our friends across the pond and to our government officials who I hope stop the political mayhem and for once stop using our constitution to protect individuals who would do us much harm!

Perhaps if the people setting these bombs knew that once their identities were discovered, every member of their family would be rounded up and shot dead, well, that might get the attention of anyone wanting to do this in the future.

Sure it's an extreme measure, but if we want this crap to stop, perhaps we need to adopt extreme measures!

Sadly, the American Left (politicians, media, academia) stand in the way of us doing what is truly necessary to win this battle quickly: overwhelming force without concern for collateral damage, since the enemy has little of those concerns. They want to bomb subway systems and kill children, then we'll gladly return the favor.

Please join me in thanking the leaders of the World War 2 generation for not being pussies like many of the leaders of the current generation.

I think we have become a way too politically correct society that can get taken advantage of.

I understand that our country has not always done things the correct way, but it is time to stop pandering to the "Peace-Loving Muslims" as Pres. Bush called them back in 2001.

The clerics are to blame for a lot of what is wrong with the Muslim religion just as it was back in the middle ages (John, do not take offense) when the Catholic Church (and more specifically the church of England) ran rampant and corrupt.

I feel awful for the citizens of London knowing that what we went through four years ago collectively here in the US is happening to them right now.

I fear we are next very soon.

The sad thing is that, while I wish President Bush were more aggressive with the militant Muslims, one can only shudder how mamby-pamby a President Kerry would be with them.

Yeah, we should do what happens in their own countries.. Shoot first ask questions later.

If they don't want shooting they should follow the rules, and not walk about with bombs in their backpacks.

Well...

The main issue with "shoot first" is the fact that it requires a government to preside over a police state. The Soviet Union, Imperial Japan and and Nazi Germany were police states. For all the good it did them.

America and Great Britain are not police states. Not yet, at least.

Terrorists would love to see the free world become a huge police state. This is one of the things they're attempting to accomplish. Their vision of the Koran (or whatever doctrine they claim to adhere to) stipulates that their perception of dogma is the destiny of the rest of the global population. There is no alternative. Sound familiar?

And they will stop at nothing to accomplish this. Terrorism is not a government nor an organized army. It is a way of thought.

Every time they destroy innocent civillians, security is heightened and they are one step closer to their objective of a police state. Ultimately, it is self-defeating. Killing innocent bystanders as a matter of principle is not a successful way to win the hearts of the people one is attempting to dominate.

As a veteran, I too am tempted to promote the shoot-first-ask-questions-later theology to bring an end to this conflict. Then I remember that everything America stands for disallows that concept.

The free world became free by hard work and human sacrifice. Freedom is never free. It must be constantly maintained.

Maintaining freedom often requires the elimination of those who would usurp our freedom.
