Cool

Today was one of the weirder days I have had in this business

First, I got the notice about the bounced check from over the weekend. My ban charges were $54.00

Then, I was told by the bank I could cash it. I go to the bank only to be told that I can NOT cash the check after all.

Later, I start peddling my Game Show in the area.

I stop at a location that used to have a bar that featured Entertainment nightly. I didn't realize that they did not anymore. They told me they are now a venue that handles two function daily.

SO I get a chance to talk with the staff and wedding coordinator.

I get a tour of the entire place including walk-in coolers, etc

At the end, they ask me if I am available for a Friday night birthday party.

They tell me they had called several area DJs with no response and then...POOF

I walk in.

I say absolutely. I make the contract, it is signed, and they give me cash for the payment.

Suddenly I am doing a last minute gig, and may have a great LOCAL connection for weddings etc that I do not have right now (most referrals are from places 45-80 miles away)

This Saturday night I am playing a party celebrating the ordination of a group of priests. Their families all banded together and are tossing the new priests a party and I have the gig.

I was told not to let any preconceptions enter the picture, as I have been assured that, even though their ordinations are most solemn events, they will be more than ready to party with their families before beginning their assignments.

Well, Catholic Seminarians have a...*ahem*...REPUTATION! So getting to sow their wild oats before they get down to business is not unexpected!
