I see you got 'em all lined up waiting to kiss your bottom Jason.......
Life is too short man, get over it and do something constructive with the site.
You have a lot to offer, utilize that by doing something positive, making lifetime enemies is not the way, it's a small world.
Talk to you later.........

Jason,
I had my rounds with some of the sponsors and really it wasn't that big of a deal.
The problem with Sid's board is the runaway moderator or two who are onesided in their approaches to members of the sight.
Moderators who will diss a member and then ban the member for responding.
Moderators who will stir up a situation so that they can selectively censor or ban a given member who they know is going to respond.
I was banned from DJ Chat for typing the word pencil, it seems that one of the moderators there didn't have one or at least any testicles to go along with what he had. So he was offended by the word.
I certainly haven't missed all the overblown EGOs on that board. Way too many people there thought they were much more than they were. I have never seen another board where so many DJ's had such a high opinion of themselves.
It ain't rocket science they are all just DJ's and apparently some were not as good as they thought they were.

Wow Cyder...tell us how you REALLY feel.
As one that has been victimized by Sid (along with many others) I feel for you.
As long as you back up what you say with facts, DJ Source Online allows fair reviews of products etc.
One thing I would request is less use of the colorful language.
I do try to keep a clean Community where professionals can network with each other and not worry about sponsors hounding them at every turn.
I understand the frustration, please just find different words to express the same thing.
Thanks!

I have reduced the number of topic areas that I read and respond to on all of the boards.
You will only find me in the mp3/computer/video/tech boards anymore and dam little of that really when posting turns into a ego/verbal contest, I got other things to do.
It amazes me how many posts I throw away when I realize the direction it is going, best just stay out of it.
Even here, I rarely even read the other topic areas that contain the same old shit ground/pounded/and stamped out looking a little different, it just gets old.
I'm just glad the cream of the outcasts hang here where they are free to speak.
Kudos to Jim for that it's a definate strength.

I agree this board has always been open and not laced with ego tripping mod's or admins with agendas other than sharing info. DSO get's props in my book keep up the good work.
And rick don't worry the next year is going to be intresting.

Hmmmmm....wonder what happened to the profanity filters that used to be in place?
Boards have rules. Most boards have paid sponsors (DJ Chat and Pro DJ for example). Operating a busy board costs money. For the server, for bandwidth and sometimes staff (I heard of some boards that pay a token amount to their board staff...not DJ boards...but some do). Unfortunately when you step on the toes of a sponsor, you also step on the toes of the Forum/Site owner. And that gets them upset.
Sid has a short fuse...you lit it...now the explosion has begun.
Being banned from a board is no big deal. It will not affect your business. Or. Maybe it will. Now you have even more time to dedicate to the operation of your business and make it grow and get busier.
Turn what you perceive as a bad thing, into a good thing.

Cyder, we all get frustrated, but think about how posting angry web sites publicly can affect your business image.
Imagine how a client of yours would feel if they searched your name on Google and came up with a link to this web page.

I agree. It's not that big a deal, really.
You folks know me... I can be as impolitic and irreverent as the next. And I don't give chronic complainers much conference. I try to read between the lines and have made many friends in this crazy biz.
Yup, I do mod and admin duty at USODJA. We don't remove members unless their emails bounce back. Members are free to speak their minds on the forums as long as it doesn't get personal. If a thread gets personal, it's edited. I can't recall the last time that happened at USODJA. But then again, we're non-profit. We don't depend upon post counts and Hurrahs directed toward our sponsors for support.
The thing I have always found sad about many of the old-line DJ-related bbs forums: new members ask serious questions and are often stomped on by the renegades. This is unnecessary and just plain wrong.
Several prominent people in this business have been banned from, or chased out of DJ Chat over the years. Some deserved it. Others did not. All it takes is one especially notorious member to break the proverbial camel's back and an overzealous moderator decides to clean house. I have seen it happen. Herein lies the difference between action and reaction.
Some were removed only to return under new monikers. It never ends. I know of one cantankerous member at DJ Chat who is on his third login after being removed from the forums twice before. He's still as ornery -- and still as useless as ever.
A few dissatisfied DJ Chat (and ProDJ) members have moved on to start their own online discussion forum sites. As Matt mentioned, it's capitalism. Some have flourished, some have failed. DJSO has flourished because Jim Casey is not politically connected to the corporate aspect of this industry. It's called DJ Idea Sharing for a good reason.
Jason, a few words from old Wolfie:
You've had your rant and it's time to move on to better things. If you feel that you have a market, build a decent site, schmooze with the sponsors and promote it. Carl Greiner did much the same with DJ Gold. You can do it, too.
I hope it helps.
