What was priceless for me in Vegas was my priority refocusing, getting to meet and chat with, one on one, the people with whom I share my day to day business forum and phone experiences. DJMC is a great case in point. Since meeting him and chatting, his posts have taken on a whole new perspective as those filters of assumption and the unknown have been removed from my eyes. He's cute too!.

OK....that is just plain scary...LOL :krazy

DJMC: That's not what you said in Vegas. No need to pretend.

I wouldn't go that far.

I also think the industry is over saturated with conventions. True, only about 10% of ther nations DJs attend these conventions, but we can't afford to attend every convention that pops up. I would like to go to Niagra Falls, DJ Idea Sharing, Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and the WeDJ Cruise, but I can't afford it.

So I attend the convention which I think offers me the best bang for my buck, Las Vegas. I am seriously thinking of attending the computer DJ Summit here in October, only because it is close to home. The cruise is in Nov, a real tough month for me to take off a week.

My suggestions are to limit the number of national shows to one on each coast, spread out like the MB shows are doing. In Feb on the West Coast, in July on the East Coast.

Smaller regional shows might work, and might be better at picking up the DJs who don't/ won't/ can't attend the larger shows.

Cap Im thinking DJMC had been told what happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas.
You broke the cardinal rule. Altho Matt is from California thus no big shock you would confuse him for a cutie.
I have yet to go to a show so would enjoy the additional highlights of some of the equipment etc maybe once a year especially if it is of actual items that afre ready for order and not a so called concept to be released later version. I do understand it is the best way to get opinion. Also I think they should devote one day to gathering amongst all to network without having other activities causing many not to hook up.
We do need some events like this that are close enough to travel and those that are most popular seem to get the biggest attendance and from the further locations. I would enjoy picking one each year to attend and then one the following yr in a different venue or boat to get a wider range of everything hopefully.
This all being a perspective from one who has yet to attend.

I had posted a thread somewhere, I forgot where, it was about if anyone thought that all of the stuff that gets slung around forum boards would keep anyone from the conventions? My opinion on going to another convention was severely damaged and I had lost respect for what they were trying to do there based upon how deep the poop was that had to be shoveled around across all of the boards. I'm still debating on going back because if all the slinging didn't stop, I was not going to have any interest at all in going to another one. It was deeper on some boards than others.
