I to lack skill in creating a good contract. Is there anyone or any place to find a decent contract to use? Why reinvent the wheel?

Jams,

Give me a phone call next Wed. 2ish and I'll help you out...

I have a full schedule until that day then I can spend some time on the phone.

I'd be willing to do so on an individual "as requested" basis. I cannot share this entire proprietary document and information in a public forum or I violate my own copyright.

Discussions as to what each item means, and why, will be by answered by phone conversation only.

Certification of acceptance in the State of New York will be conveyed at that time as well.

Thank you.

Thumbs down

Jams,

Most of us didn't just sit down and create a contract!

We hired a contract lawyer and had them do it for us!

It is a legal document . . . are you familiar with contract law?

Think about it this way . . .

When someone needs a DJ for their wedding reception . . .

Do they call a lawyer?

Jams...

I will give you a starting point as I show my clients sample contracts on my website...

http://www.djmaine.com/contract.php

As said previously, go find a lawyer (maybe even a pre-paid lawyer) that can help you out. I've had mine raked over the coals many times in the eight years of business, but this has been the same since early 2002.

Good stuff, Jim.

If you're open to a couple of learned suggestions, give me a call.

Talking

Here's a sample copy of mine as well . . .

http://musicdoctordj.com/MDDJMCinvNA.PDF

Again, don't copy and paste ours . . . have a legal professional go over it before you use it!

Not just any lawyer . . .

In otherwords, a defense lawyer probably doesn't know much about contract law . . .

Nor does an ambulance chaser lawyer . . .

But a business/contract lawyer will know what to do!

John,
I did'nt ask to use anyones contract to just copy and paste. I need it so when i draw mine up. I have ideas on what to put in there before i go to a lawyer and have it drawn up. I do have a little knowledge of contracts. This happens to be my 2nd business. Basically using it as a guideline.Sometimes questions should be asked before someone preaches. Thanks to all that decided to help me out. I really appreciate it.
