Thumbs up

I just posted a new poll on my wedding directory website. It deals with a South Korean company that rents out people to pretend to be friends of the bride and groom at the reception. Soundsp retty far-fetched, I know, but the owner is doing gangbusters with it!

Anyway, nothing like this exists in the States, but the idea is pretty original.

What's your opinion?

Read the article , then take the poll.

Thanks!

The article says this service is used by people with weak social networks.

I guess so!

How weak would your network have to be to rent a "best friend" and not have everyone else at the wedding wonder why they never met/heard of your best friend.

Renting a set of parents is even stranger, but maybe rented parents would give the DJ less of a PITA than the real parents.

Here in NYC you wouldn't have to. Just rent a club and keep the doors open to the street.

I'd expect to see a big demand for this on the Pacific rim (West Coast US) where lots of asians reside....

Hmmm...

Hell, just hire 40 DJs to go to the same party. That's all we do anyway, right???
