Feedback for Future Idea Sharing Locations

DJ Idea Sharing 8 & 9 are in the works! Rob Peters and I have talked about several
possible future plans, one being an all - day conference at a hotel/conference center. What do you think about that?? We are a few years away from that.
Also, we hope to do an event in Long Island NY and Florida with Professor Jam's help. There are NO plans to leave the Connecticut / Massachusetts area.
Your feedback would be appreciated.

Great idea!
If there were a meal/buffet to be considered I know of a local venue that would probably work with you on the day long expo thing. There is a hotel adjacent to the facility also and is right off the highway.
I think most of us would be willing to cough up 25-30 bucks for a decent buffet meal in conjunction with the expo.

There is some strong interest lately from guys on PC djing. It can be rather involved to cover it all, but with the help of someone like Todd Sun from DJRAK it would make a nice addition to the show.
I figure you know he lives near Hartford and would certainly make the trip.
He has fully funcitonal systems with all brands of software that would give fair and balanced exposure to the whole topic with hardware as well.

Maybe an interest poll would help determine the worthyness of it.

Todd actually was a guest presenter at DJ Idea Sharing 6 @
DJ World In North Haven CT! He did a nice job.
I recommend the Mass DJs come to CT shows and the CT DJs come to Mass shows.

The day long thing really appeals to me.

As for locations I'm thinking it would be good to conduct it in a resort area like Cape Cod or New London where the participants could bring spouses and plan to spend the evening and an additional day, combining fun and work.

Who knows, we might even get fancy and plan out some Spouse activities in the resort area during the day while the IS participants are working.

I believe DJ Idea Sharing has become large enough to become a day long event. It does need to be at a location affordable to Djs though.

There is a resort in Connecticut on the water in Westbrook. The Water's Edge Resort and Spa. I have a very close relationship with the manager of catering and I think that I could get great rates for JIM! LOL [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]
They have a complete spa, water skiing, jet ski rentals, the greatest Sunday brunch in CT, and just fantastic accomodations of this event.
If we go FULL DAY, it won't be for a year or two, so I think we need to get the word out to as many DJs and for as long a period of time as possible.
I have already received pledges of support from many DJ related companies to
have a booth at the show. Sponsorship should be very easy, being that we are just kinckin' tail where ever we go know. This event has become big and has potential to rival the DH Trade shows someday!

Nice to see it's located before the Rt 95 gridlock region.

I wouldn't wait so long to make it a day long event Mike.
