Hi guys,

I have a gig today at PHCC college and will see all of you tonight in the live CPS chat.

Some questions were asked regarding the terminology for "CPS" I'll answer a few of them here and I will be gone most of today to reply to follow-up questions...

What is "CPS"? It is short for Computerized Performance System... No matter what software you mix with and hardware components are integrated into the total package one consistent factor we all share is the incorporation of a computer. During a brainstorming session in 2003 a group of the industries leading pioneers, with regard to computer DJing, voiced a concern of a consistent trend within the general population that when they see a computer or they say I mix with a computer it’s associated with the illegal aspects of downloading music and file sharing and of course the tag of MP3s’ (not all systems use mpeg and who knows what the future will bring)…. They all now say we use a "CPS" or Computerized Performance System which always opens the conversation into a more professional direction.

The term "CPS"? short for Computerized Performance System... was published in 2003 and is incorporated to not be used by one specific organization, incorporation, product or person but as a descriptive method of tools used in DJing with a computer…. A CPS system for an example could include dedicated products from OTS, BPM Studio, DJ Power, Numark, Dennon, RANE, Shure, EV and a variety of other resources. Another such term used to explain a group of hardware and software dedicated to video and audio combinations has been around for many years and called “Studio”

Who are the “ALL Stars” in tonight’s live chat? Log In and see….The credentials of some VIP guests are very solid.. I hope my personal friend Dr. Drax can make the chat tonight as well…..

I’ll check back in when I return from the college gig…

P.S. Why jiggle when you can JAM!

djmyrtle,

Give me your phone number and I'll phone you to personally explain in detail. Also, where are you located and what is the name of your company? Your bio is blank.

Welcome to the forms.

The same CyFer, I wish you the best in your projects.

djmyrtle,

No, the descriptive terminology is copy written via a 2003 publication, however, the words used are commonly utilized and were selected to prevent one specific company, individual, or entity from making such a claim... CPS is a descriptive explanation of the tools we all use as an entire package when incorporating a computer into the mix. If you need more details as stated above give me a call..
