Hey fellow New Englanders...
Rob Peters and I would like to find out who is going to the NAME conference in Philly on April 26-28th and if you would be interested in traveling in a large group on the Acela Express train fron Dedham, MA (Rte 128 stop)

Plan is to leave Sunday April 25th around 11:00am from Dedham with the train arriving in Philly at 4:15pm. Plenty of time to network with one another on the train, then maybe have a nice dinner in Philly that night followed by a club or something.

Conference ends after 4pm Wednesday the 28th. So it would mean a late train home that night or early train the next day. Estimated cost for the train round trip is approximately $200.

Any takers?

Jim, I would take you up on that, but I have a wedding booked that Sunday that won't finish until 6:30.

There's a 10:00pm train I'll be on that arrives in Philly at 4:35am (lucky me, huh). I don't want to travel on Monday morning.

However, I'll be interested in whatever return plans you make, I'll share space with you guys and bust your chops all the way home!

Please respond to this thread by Friday if you can.

We will probably need to purchase tickets by Friday as they sell out these trains fast.

John, we'd love to have you on the train back!

Glad to see you are feeling better!

Love your Pats Super Bowl graphic. Still seems kind of strange, doesn't it?

Jim, given how truly bizarre the Pats franchise has been, and given how they were usually the laughing stock of the area's sports teams for so long, to see them now as the model franchise that just goes out and wins championships is quite amazing.

Whatever time you decide to leave to come home from Philly, let me know so I can buy my own round trip ticket, since I have to leave to arrive in Philly at a different time than you guys.

Not to rain on your parade, but only to offer another option, I just checked out airfares and both US Air and Delta are offering Boston to Philly roundtrip for only $109.

There are a bunch of departure/arrival times available at this rate and still others available at $115 roundtrip.

You'd miss out on the Party Train, but could arrive in Philly so much quicker and can do your networking/partying there!

I'm still undecided on whether or not I'm going - I need to wait and see how a couple of other scheduled things fall - but if I go I'll probably fly. Enough airlines use Philly as a hub so you can usually get a decent rate to fly, plus the $100 you save can buy a lot of beverages!

Hey Justin,
I think the prevailing thought was we'd spend at leat an hour plus in Logan before take off, fly an hour, arrive, cab it over.

We thought it might be easier and more comfortable for everyone to be onboard the train.

I'll leave it up to everyone. BTW to fly Portland to Philly, it is $450 roud trip
