:s&i Clearly a number of you have made setup an "art form", pardon the pun. Perhaps some of you will be able to point to a few steps that can be changed in my setup procedure, but here goes:
:cry (Note. all speakers are self-powered. Subs do not have pole mount capability.)
1 - Place subs (15" 400 Watts) on speaker stands (milk crate w/platform screwed to the bottom of milk crate, turned upside down so opening is on floor) One on each side of 6-ft banquet table.
2 - Open speaker tri-pods (Quick-Lock), match same leg width; adjust for proper height; place behind subs.
3 - Place Main Speakers on tri-pod.
4 - Open CD/Mixer case, place top of case on banquet table and mixer on top of case.
5 - Place power strip beneath table.
6 - Plug CD/Mixer cord into power strip.
7 - Take Left Main Spker power cord and plug into Left subwoofer. Take Left subwoofer power cord and plug into power strip beneath table.
8 - Take Right Main Speaker power cord and plug into Right subwoofer; Right Subwoofer power cord and plug into power strip beneath table.
9 - Take 4-ft line (XLR) cord from Left Main Speaker (input) and connect to Subwoofer (output); take 15-ft line (XLR) cord from subwoofer input and connect it to Mixer left output.
10 - Take 4-ft line (XLR) cord from Right Main Speaker (input) and connect to subwoofer (output); take 15-ft line (XLR) cord from subwoofer input and connect to Mixer right output.
11 - Place wireless receiver on table.
12 - Connect wireless power supply to power strip beneath table.
13 - Connect wireless 1/4" jacks from wireless system to Mixer Mic-1 and Mic-2.
14 - Power-up CD/Mixer; subwoofer and main Left side, subwoofer and main Right side. Ready to play music.
15 - Skirt banquet table to hide cords (stick pins) or velcro. Banquet tables are provided by venue. So one may have the old style rubber edge or new white plastic edge.
The above set-up is for System A and used at wedding receptions.
However, because I also play mint-condition 45 vinyl ("oldies") and Retro Hits that I don't have on CD, I add to the above setup one (1) turntable. Plug left and right RCA jacks into CD/Mixer, attach ground cord from turntable to CD/Mixer, plug power cord into power strip beneath table. Oh, forgot, set turntable base on turntable top for added height!
:krazy
Of course, none of the above responses told of how they set up other systems they have that may take more time...for bigger venues.
"Less Mic, more music for dancing."
"Still spinning after all these years."
