I agree with every word you said (typed, posted, whatever)..

Round my parts we have loads of what you call Bottom Feeders.

I call them "Les Battersby" DJs or "Dodgy Dave Double Decks".

(Les Battersby is a char from Coronation Street, A uk soap for those not in the know)

Now most of these $80 per night DJs, yup I said $80, they gig a full night for $80, why?, how?

Simple they have about £150 worth of gear!!!

Now I promote myself as a professional,, why? for starters I have over £10,000 worth of gear... Ok, I'm pretty broke right now after buying all that lot [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img] and I keep adding to it.. 4 more intelligent lights just the other day!

Also I started DJing back in 1987 (was 17 then), where as Dave Dodgy Double Decks only started last week.

I like to give my clients the best show I can.. and if that means almost being a mobile Nightclub, then so be it..

$1500 for Peaveys stuff aint bad, I currently own over $4000 worth of Peavey gear as it is.. though here in the UK, that price could easily become £1500 .. ($2200) I hope not... but eventually I'll be playing out with more Peavey gear. and also have the New Numark product as back-up.
