KJDJ,

I spoke directly with Peavey on this prior to posting the first post above..

Basically.. I have what are as close to your SP7xx's

They are Bi-ampable and Peavey reccomends running them in this mode.

I get enough highs, it's more low end grunt I need.

The 15" fitted are the same as you find in the 215xt subs.. Black Widow drivers.

They require a crossover Freq of 150hz down.

Peavey say their 22xt is 40W rms and should not be run straight from a crossover, no matter what freq you set them to.
THey said they need CD equalization, which they told me is a FLAT frequency no boost etc.. this CD EQ stops them from being overdriven by certain frequencies.

Sounds to me a little like a compressor/limitier but for only specific freq bands.

I have a crossover that hasvery adjustable crossover points for hi, mid, low, sub.

Each channel has a level control also.. but Peavey said, without CD EQ they will blow!

Currently I run them in full range mode..

The 22xt acts as a mid - hi driver the 2 15"s are subs.. if I muffle the Horn you can't audiably here the 15"s but you can bloody well feel them

I'm going to try peavey again,, and push them for some written info on how the CD EQ works as compared to non CD EQ.

It's funny as there are only a few of their range that specifically require CD EQ, most others can be run normally with any EQ / crossover you require.

Ultimately I want to run each set of dual 15"s from an amplifier each side. and run the two horn via the correct crossover/EQ from a single stereo amp.

Though the smallest amp I have is 750rms pr channel... I think the comp/limiter will be used on the highs.

I'll re-post any info I can get on the inner workings of Peavey CD EQ theory.
