WOW! John I have had totally opposite experiences with bands I have dealt with.
One reason is that I will pursue them ahead of time, setting up a meeting with the band leader and making sure there is an understanding of duties beforehand so this situation does not arise.
I will also make sure that the B&G realize that we have spoken and that the itinerary is the itinerary.
Am I flexible, yes...to a point.
I make sure that all realize that I am one of the professionals hired to make their wedding day dreams a reality and that we as professionals will not step on one another's toes.
If I had been you at the end of the night, I would not have yielded the floor to the band. Of course, I weigh 300 lbs less than soaking wet so it may be easier for me. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]
