Ok Matt...to be fair with Scott.
First, just as Ryan does with Pro DJ, he has 50 states to try and keep on top of and I'm sure his bids reflect that.
It is impossible without spending a major fortune to do that with every keyword. The search engines have recently reranked sites that are listed to enable "fresh blood" so to speak to be found.
How do I know?
On Yahoo I was #1 or #2 for "maine dj" or maine disc jockey, etc...
Now I am #7 or lower.
Every once in awhile adjustments get made so that the internet is an open marketplace and not just for the very few. Of course, to combat this, most use Pay Per Click advertising now on top of the normal free listings.
Everything as you know is very cyclical in this business. Just four months ago, I had a major slump where I had only 3 bookings and 10 leads in 5 months from ALL of my advertising. Suddenly, my luck has changed again.
People are a funny animal. They are not very consistent. Do not take a month or two's results and extrapolate them out. The web doesn;t work that way. In fact, I just recently received two email leads from GreatDJs.net recently which was a pleasant surprise
