Jim_Casey] Booted again
[djdonny] Jim, bathroom break?
[Jim_Casey] lol
[djron1] Jim did I loose you?
DJ_Ed has left the chat.
[Jim Casey] Anyway...the biggest difference between the two associations is...
[sounddifference] What did you have to do to win tickets.
[Jim Casey] NAME has a Full-time office (9-5 daily) and a 24 hr emergency hotline...plus
[djdonny] What made you choose NAME?
[Jim Casey] The insurance for NAME is much better
[Jim_Casey] Im here
[djron1] That's what I was looking for
[Jim_Casey] Who me DOnny?
[Johnny_Dee] Insurance
[djdonny] No Johnny
[Jim_Casey] Insurance and the full time office helps too
[djron1] Do they really help in an emergency, If you are looking for a last minute dJ?
[Johnny_Dee] just luck...LOL
[Jim Casey] yes
[djdonny] Are you convinced the insurance is better than ADJA's?
[djron1] I've come to see that you do know what your talking about, thanks alot
[Jim Casey] They will do whatever it takes to fins a replacement for you
[Jim Casey] you;re welcome
[Jim_Casey] its a proven fact donny
[djron1] I didn't know you could single chat like this, that's cool
[djdonny] proven how?
[Jim_Casey] Have you received the full policy from RV Nuccio?
[Johnny_Dee] not really...the ADJA turned me off when I called and said my business was more than a DJ business so they wouldn't give me insu
[djdonny] I have the policy somewhere I think. I just get liability
[Johnny_Dee] they visited my web site to determine this
[Jim_Casey] RV Nuccio has many more exclusions such as Johnnys case than the NAME policy through Commercial Brokerage
[djdonny] Does NAME offer an "insurance only" rate?
[Jim_Casey] If I remember right...Nuccio doesn;t cover a DJ if they are on a raised platform
[Johnny_Dee] really?
[Jim_Casey] No...$125 per year to join...plus the insurance...
[djdonny] Jim, I heard that too but I think that's just NAME propaganda
[Jim_Casey] I had this discussion with Lou Sands on the WeDJ Cruise
sounddifference has left the chat.
[Jim_Casey] Read your policy carefully Donny...
[djron1] I see that NAME asks for 3 refrences from businesses in order to join, are these just telling them you really are a DJ?
[Jim_Casey] I have made this public a couple of times and NOBODY from ADJA has disputed it so far
[Jim_Casey] Yeah bascially Ron
[djron1] It's all new to me so don't mind me asking.
[Jim_Casey] I dont mind at all Ron
[djron1] It's the insurance I am looking for and NAME looks good from here>
[Jim_Casey] I paid $373 for my $1,000,000 insirance and $15,000 equipment policy with them
[djdonny] I still can;t get over Kessler's shady past and the way NAME was founded...
[Jim_Casey] many have a lot more equipment than I have
[djdonny] I was one of the original ADJA members who quit upon reading about all the scandal.
[Jim_Casey] There are three sides to every story Donny...
[Johnny_Dee] I agree Donny
[Jim_Casey] I wasnt privvy to it all...but I read the court dockets etc BEFORE I made my decision...
[djdonny] Usually the truth lies between the two stories.
[Jim_Casey] exactly
[djdonny] But even between the two stories is not so great
[Jim_Casey] He has tried very hard to make amends to the DJ Public as a whole...
[Jim_Casey] And i think he has done a more than admirable job...
[djron1] Has anyone every made a claim on the insurance?
[djdonny] He has yet to do one important thing in my mind.
[Jim_Casey] Oh yeah...a few
[Jim_Casey] That is?
[djron1] was it easy, were they willing to help?
[djdonny] I think he needs to allow other members run for office of president
[Jim_Casey] That you would have to ask Bruce (on the insiurance claims Ron)
[djdonny] In fact, I think it should just be a term office
[djron1] Ok
[Johnny_Dee] I was VP of the NY chapter and Tony Valentine was president of the chapter when that whole thing with Bruce came up
[Jim_Casey] Donny...thing is...he OWNS it...it is a private association open to the general DJ public
[HeadlineDJ] $1,000,000 PLI is a bit low don;t you think?
[HeadlineDJ] Here in the UK my PLI is Equiv to almost $20,000,000
[Jim_Casey] In my mind...he has to work his bottom off to keep me and others in the association
[djdonny] Johnny, then I'd be curious to hear your side
[Jim_Casey] He has an automatic motivation in that alone...
[djdonny] He probably does work very hard, but he could continue to work hard as VP, right?
[djron1] $20,000,00? What do you do, ad pyro to your shows?
[Johnny_Dee] I know too much but would rather not bring it up...LOL It was a nasty time
[Jim_Casey] I was thinking the same thing Ron,..thats very high Headline
[Jim_Casey] Why is it that high?
[djdonny] But now you're with NAME, so obviously you trust Bruce?
[Johnny_Dee] no...not really. I only belong for the Insurance
[djdonny] cool... and honest
[djdonny] what ever happened to the NYC chapter anyway?
[djdonny] I think there was a LI chapter too, right?
[Johnny_Dee] no one wanted to do any work in the chapter . Only Tony Valentine and myself did all the work and the rest of the guys would bi
[HeadlineDJ] No Pyro's, that's just standard PLI, many have £1m, but I have £10m, some venues especially the up market ones demand £10m PLI..
[Johnny_Dee] bitch
[HeadlineDJ] Good for me as many DJs can not do those venues [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]
[djron1] the way I look at it is; you have to try something once, the first time something bad happens it will be the last time.
[Johnny_Dee] Ed Price was also a worker
[djdonny] I remember those names
[HeadlineDJ] £10m PLI costs me less than £100 per year, payable monthly.
[Jim_Casey] The rest of the guys were bi?
[Jim_Casey] ...lol..
[djdonny] lol
[Johnny_Dee] you don't get paid a cent to be a VP or Pres. of a chapter and the members expect you to do everything
[Jim_Casey] We are in a sue happy society Headline
[Johnny_Dee] bitch...LOL
[Jim_Casey] 10 mill dollars insurance would be very costly
[Johnny_Dee] LOL...just caught it Jim
[djdonny] Would you care to be a member if a NYC chapter started up this summer?
[djron1] bedtime. I have to play with the band tomorrow for the firefighter's funeral who died in Salem.
[Johnny_Dee] Since I can't get the insurance from the ADJA it doesn't pay for me to join
[Jim_Casey] Sorry to hear that Ron
[HeadlineDJ] Yup, indeed we are Jim.
[HeadlineDJ] The way I also look at it,,, if a DJ caused a Fire at a venue, there could be potentially many PLI suits against you, not just
[djdonny] gotcha
[HeadlineDJ] one or even a class action
[HeadlineDJ] so £10m doesn't seem so high in those circumstances
djron1 has left the chat.
[djdonny] what else do you do besides DJ that they wouldn't insure you?
[Jim_Casey] inflatables
[Jim_Casey] video
[HeadlineDJ] porno. LOL
[Jim_Casey] am i right johnny
[Jim_Casey] porno...LOL
[djdonny] inflatable porno videos??
[Johnny_Dee] nothing that other DJ's don't do. Lighting, Large Screen Video etc.
[Johnny_Dee] LOL
[HeadlineDJ] &0's Prono's Remixed for the millenium. lmao
[HeadlineDJ] 70's
[Jim_Casey] I'm telling ya Donny...look over the FULL policy
[Jim_Casey] johnny has no reason to lie to ya
[djdonny] I will, and I'll talk to the ADJA officers about the policy also...
[djdonny] Just had dinner with Peter Merry the other night when he was in NYC
[Johnny_Dee] I like Peter. I met him at a convention in AC
[Jim_Casey] My new site and biz cards are Peter Merry inspired
[djdonny] I like Rob from NAME. Would consider joining (in addition to the ADJA) if he were prez.
[Johnny_Dee] I never got passed the woman that answered the phone. She was the one that shot me down with the insurance
[djdonny] If I could get you ADJA insurance, would that matter?
[djdonny] I always learned, "the woman who answers the phone" usually doesn't know much.
[Johnny_Dee] Actually...I'm not a member of either. My Son Matty D. now owns the business so he's the member.
