Rick:
The 6' tower separates in two pieces. One is 14.5 lbs, the other is 16 lbs. BOSE includes a soft paded handled zippered cases for each. The base/amp unit (35 lbs @ 26"x26"x5") has a soft padded zippered case provided as well. The subs (28 lbs each) also come with a provided padded cover but its flimsy (IMO) so I had mine custom made.

Baggage handling depends on what you use. I trailer mine. My entire system fits on two Magliner hand trucks. The equipment is arranged, stacked, and rachet strapped on the hand trucks inside the building. I roll them out and into to the trailer, strap it secure, and drive off. Average set-up time, pull up to driveway to first note is about 30 minutes unrushed, breakdown/packing takes a bit longer as the urgency factor is no longer an issue.

I have one small dent in on tower's face due to improper rachet strap placement (my own stupidity) but other than that, the BOSE provided covers/carriers do their job well.

Not wanting to engage in any remote possibility of an equipment war, suffice it to say that I don't buy my stuff on specs. It's all about how it sounds to me and what issues it resolves. I would never buy a TV based on technical specs alone. Nor a car. Nor a frig. Nor a lawn tractor. I want to see, touch, feel, and hear. Specs are the last issue in purchase determination.
